Colorado College:
East Campus Housing - Interior Design & Exterior Materials
Electra Johnson provided interior design, interior and exterior materials, sourcing and layout and planning for the East Campus Housing Project. Colorado College is committed to sustainable principals and we found a local manufacturers and supplier of Scandinavian styled beetle kill wood furniture. We worked with Azure furniture in Denver design and create interior tables, chairs, study desks, bar stools, farm tables, end tables, and kitchen cubby islands for the student housing, using Colorado Beetle kill wood. The Interior furnishings were chosen based on sustainability and durability. We worked with a company called transformations, that has a 30 year warranty on the frames of their armchairs and couches to create cozy, durable, sustainable interior finishes. The tiles all use fly ash and sustainably sourced glazes and the interior paints are all low voc. The exterior materials were chosen to blend into the surrounding residential neighborhood and sourced based on their low carbon footprint.
